How to play Blu-ray ISO backups on WD TV Live

To play Blu-ray ISO backups on your WD TV Live, one thing you should know is that WD TV Live can well play ISO files from a USB drive, while network shares do have problems actually.

In order to get an ISO backup, what’s your workflow? As all I know, some people use tsMuxeR to back up the Blu-ray disc, and then converted it into an ISO using Daemon Tools. Personally, I use Pavtube Blu-ray Copy to make ISO backups for my Blu-ray discs.

or http://en.wikipedia.org/ can help you !

Within several clicks, this program can finish its task, and enables you to get an ISO image file. What you should do is just loading your BD files via “Source” option, and then choose “Image File (*.ISO)” from the pull down menu of “Target” to specify the destination folder. BTW, you’d better indicate your USB drive as the save path, or you need spend time to copy the ISO image to your USB drive repeatedly. Once the two steps finished, the backup process will begin, and then you just need wait for the resulted ISO files for your WD TV Live.

bluraycopy100119.jpg

As long as copying task is completed, plug the USB into your WD TV, and connect it to your HDTV via HDMI cable, what you should do next is enjoying your BD movies on your widescreen TV leisurely.

One more thing I should mention is that some users have problems to play Blu-ray ISO files via their WD TV, but DVD ISO is working well. Not clear about the accurate reason, but another solution can be recommended. Since WD TV is able to beautifully playback HD MKV files up to Full HD 1080p, thus we just need a utility to convert BD files to HD MKV, and then everything will be OK. Because of the Blu-ray copyright issues, some discs are highly protected, we must take advantage of a powerful application to do so. In that case, the following Blu-ray ripper is suggested, it is able to remove nearly all kinds of BD protections, including BD+, AACS, and even MKB Version > 10 is supported as well.

This Blu-ray ripper allows users exporting “MKV HD Video (*.mkv)” format, and also enables users to reset audio and video parameters via clicking “Settings” button. You can set the resolution at 1920*1080 to remain 1080p quality of your Blu-ray movies, as well as keep 5.1 channel of the original surround sound. All in all, all the parameters like bit rate, codec name, frame rate, sample rate are all changeable in the following interface.

bluraycopymkv100119.jpg

After your preferred settings for your WD TV have been set well, just click “Convert” button to start conversion. Once finished, you can watch them on your TV via WD TV with ease, and the high quality of the Blu-ray movie has never been changed at all.

Is this helpful? Hope it is.

To convert HD camcorder clips and other videos to a format that can be played on an iPod, iPhone, Apple TV and shared on the web, some Mac users have purchased the not cheap Elgato Turbo.264 HD Video Encoder to realize their format conversion goals. Turbo.264 HD is not only an encoder, but also an accelerator to convert all popular video formats (including HD camcorder video) to a high-quality H.264 file in standard or HD resolutions. It is incredibly fast and comes with an easy-to-use software application.

Everything seems good, but when it comes to deal with copy-protected DVDs, it usually gives users CSS errors, because it can only convert DVDs that are not copy-protected. Aside from the copyright issues, according to some users’ review, Turbo.264 HD has one worse problem that sometimes the exported files are all out of sync. We can have a look at some reviews on this point together. Written by PF from Ventura, 5-Nov-2009: “This product is a joke … most of the files generated using this product have audio that is completely out of sync and are unwatchable”; Written by AM from San Jose, 16-Nov-2009: “This product does exactly what it says on the box; it makes Apple TV format movies in a very short time. The issue is they’re unwatchable. I’ve ripped 15 movies in the last 10 hours, and not one of them has the audio in sync with the image.”

Well, how to fix the two problems? At this time, change your eyes on another affordable program would be a better choice. Absolutely, Pavtube DVD Ripper for Mac is for you to give solutions to the two problems.

or http://en.wikipedia.org/ can help you !

Pavtube DVD Ripper for Mac is able to read all copy- protected DVDs from DVD ROM, DVD Folder, or IFO/ISO image files directly, and rip VIDEO_TS folders to playback on popular multimedia players like iPhone, iPod, PSP, PS3, Apple TV, etc. The output format is wide ranging from MP4, 3GP, AVI, MPG, MPEG-4, FLV, MOV, 3G2, VOB, MP3, FLAC, MKA, OGG, WAV, AC3, M4A, etc. to HD video up to 1080p. It also supports DVD chapter selection, and enables you to pick the audio track, subtitle, and camera angle you want to go with the main feature when converting DVD files.

dvdrippermacmaininterface091230.jpg

Pavtube DVD Ripper for Mac easily enables you to rip copy-protected DVDs fast and smoothly on Mac with excellent output quality, and previewing, trimming, cropping, combining DVD clips, and adding text, image or video watermarks to DVD files are all available within a few clicks. The advanced audio and video sync technology it adopts will never let you be troubled by audio and video out of sync issues. Best of all, it is definitely cost-efficient, only $28, much cheaper than $179.95 of Elgato Turbo.264. Consider having a try? Good luck.
